Timing chain fitting belt for Mercedes Benz

The Mercedes-Benz M651 1.8 | 2.1 diesel engines can suff er from issues requiring the replacement of the timing chain. The M651 timing chain is at the back of the engine (flywheel end) which makes the replacement of the timing chain diffi cult. To avoid the need for completely stripping the engine the new chain must be attached to the old chain and “threaded” around the engine sprockets while turning the crankshaft. The 829124 Timing Chain Fitting Bridge helps guide the new chain into position while the old chain is extracted by maintaining the contact of the new chain with the sprocket.
Note: the 829124 must be used with the cam locking tools found in 829120 M651 engine timing kits.
